Parent Project

The 2026–27 Parent Literacy Project, a family support initiative of the Chatham Literacy Moonshot, helps parents and caregivers strengthen literacy within their families. Whether you want to build your own literacy skills or learn how to better support your child’s reading and learning at home, we can help in two ways:
-
Strengthen Your Own Literacy Skills
Work one-on-one with a trained literacy tutor to strengthen your reading and writing skills and build confidence. Participants receive individualized support twice-weekly virtual sessions in a welcoming and encouraging environment. Learn to Support Your Child’s Reading
Receive training and practical tools to help you support your child’s reading development and build literacy skills at home. You’ll work directly with the Volunteer Literacy Project to learn effective tutoring strategies you can use with your child to strengthen their reading skills and confidence.
